The Alinco station has a Clarifier function that helps a clearer reception. Along with the automatic squalch, the station is equipped with filters that reduce background sounds ANL, NB and Hi-Cut. RF Gain and Small Gain adjust the sensitivity of reception / transmission to communicate over long distances. These should be set to maximum when the correspondent is nearby and can be dimmed to reduce distortion.
