PRO520XL Mobile CB Radio

More information

This compact CB transceiver incorporates state-of-the-art microelectronics into a sophisticated Euro-styled 2-way radio. The superior engineering of the PRO520XL will treat your ears to professional 2-way radio communications as you’ve never heard it before.

I have been selling these (510 and 520) for over a decade and I can still say they are one of the best ever made in the small size class.

Features

-ANL Switch
-Compact Size
-Full 40 Channel Operation
-Instant Channel 9
-PA/CB Switch
-RF Gain
-S/RF Meter
-Requires a High impedance electret microphone or amplified microphone.  These do not work well with the noise cancelling mics like the 636L or the RK-56

-PA Switch – To select the Public Address mode when an external PA speaker is connected.

-ANL Switch – You can select the Automatic Noise Limiter to help
reduce harsh background noise caused by a variety of interference sources.

-CH 9 Switch – Overrides the channel selector and instantly tunes to the emergency channel 9.

-TX LED – An LED lights to indicate when the radio is transmitting.

-S/RF Meter – This LED meter shows the relative strength of the received signal or the RF output.

-Channel Indicator – Displays the channel currently in use.

-Channel Selector – This switch selects the desired channel for transmission and reception.

-RF Gain – This control is used to adjust receiver gain and is helpful when RX signals are very strong and distorted.

-Squelch – The squelch control is used to eliminate background noise during the absence of a transmission.

-Volume Control – Rotate clockwise to turn the radio on and to increase the volume.

-Microphone Jack – The operational mode of the CB is controlled by the push-to-talk switch on the microphone.

-Antenna Connector – This female connector permits connection of the transmission line cable male connector (PL-259) to the transceiver.

-PA SP Jack – An External 8 Ohm 7-Watt Public Address (PA) Speaker may be connected to this jack.

-EXT SP Jack – An External 8 Ohm 7-Watt Speaker may be connected to this jack. The internal speaker is disabled when you plug into this jack.
