In the SSB mode, a six pole crystal lattice filter provides maximum
selectivity. In the AM mode, the units dual-conversion receiver with
crystal filtering delivers peak frequency response with maximum adjacent

The transmitter features a logarithmic speech processor which assures
maximum average talk power without flat-topping. The simple, uncluttered panel of the TR-296 offers all the features desired
