Upgrades !!
Replace both detector diodes with low noise Schottky diodes increasing receiver sensitivity lowering the noise floor.
Replace noise blanker diodes with low noise Schottky diodes to improve the reduction artificial electrical noise.
Replace receiver 1st stage amplifier IC for more SIGNAL and less static noise for receiving distant stations.
I don't Replace any other audio AF or RF stage components. They don't need to be.
I precisely tune the Receiver IAW The Factory Service manual Chapter 4.1.3 (8 steps).
I precisely tune the Transmitter IAW The Factory Service manual Chapter 4.1.2 (9 steps).
I precisely tune the Synthesizer IAW The Factory Service manual Chapter 4.1.1 (This is the frequency alignment and is 8 steps).
I adjust the final and driver MOSFET gate voltage for proper RF bias.
